Entire thread disappearing after posting a reply

Hi, this has happened three times now, I've answered a question on a thread and the next day the thread cannot be found despite various searches, very strange.
The latest was the other day when someone asked for an id of a valvegear etch and I answered that I thought it was a DJH 9F etch which I happened to have the same etch in that very kit.
So why do the threads disappear over night?

Is it still there if you click on your little icon and select 'my content' Dave?

Hi Guys, very sorry, a senior moment I'm afraid. The post I answered was on a different forum that I don't frequent much these days, now found again. But it still happened twice on here previously, maybe the OPs removed them.
Anyway, hangs head in shame.....
