On Saturday 20th June 2026, Wild Swan Books is hosting a small conversational gathering of like minded modellers and their models to promote and celebrate modelling in Gauge One at the scale of 1/32.

4 Tollbrdge Studios, Batheaston, BA1 7DE 10.30am to 4.30pm
Admission £5.00 includes tea and coffee throughout day

The accent is on creativity, craft and imagination, coupled with the desire to create models and scenes with realism and atmosphere. The event is unashamedly 1/32 scale, with none of the usual “Gauge One” confusions of ideas and scales.

Participants include Fred Phipps, the name behind “Caradoc Models”, the creator of superb resin locomotive and wagon kits in 1/32 scale, Luke Davis, a military modeller who has recently given his attention to the railway side of things, Dave Easto, a prolific scratch builder with catholic tastes and Andrew Vines, a modeller who sets himself high standards, recently working in the garden to great effect.

We are also privileged to have Cliff Barker with us for the day. You may not have heard of Cliff, but back in 2004 he had the courage and foresight to research and have manufactured code 180 bullhead section rail - the first ever properly scaled rail for Gauge One. He followed this up by contacting Len Newman of “Exactoscale” fame, enlisting his help, and going on to produce a range of accurately moulded 1/32 sleepers and chairs, together with a range of other track fittings.

Since 2004 Cliff has expanded the range, made his track widely available, kept prices sensible and done much more besides. At 12.30pm, he will be giving us an entertaining and informative talk on his track, how he came to produce it, how you can model with it, and more besides.

Free off street parking outside premises, unresticted on street parking available, good bus route to Bath up on Main Road.

All Wild Swan titles will also be on display and available for purchase, plus current MRJ and back issues.

We look forward to welcoming you on the day!
