Photo BR Mk1 gutters

Bit of a long shot chaps, but does anyone have a good, side-on photo, of the last 12 inches or so, of a BR Mk1 gutter please?

I decided that the moulded gutters on my JLTRT Mk1 roof were a bit on the heavy side (not to mention, NQLTRT :))), so I shaved them off. The plan is to etch some better looking replacements and with a clear enough picture, I should be able to import it into TurboCAD and trace the gutter's outline.

You would be walking round Eastleigh depot after you had arrived in the East Yard from Westbury!

Yes, quite possibly Brian, though I'm annual leave at the moment and a bit impatient!

Actually, since the demise of the DBS driver's mess facilities at Eastleigh depot, I sometimes have my break whilst sitting in a Mk1, though I never thought to photograph the gutters....

Hi Dan.

I think I may have just what you're looking for if you're not yet sorted? Trouble is, the file is too big to post.

Message me if you still need a piccy.

Cheers.

Sean.

Thank you Sean - I'll send you a PM. Although I found a good picture via the Internet (see post #2), sadly, it was lacking in clarity once enlarged.

Hello Dan,

These photos of Mk 1 Coach gutters might be of help. Mk 1 E3083 and W25771

E3083 1.jpg E3083 1.jpg E3083 2.jpg E3083 3.jpg W25771 1.jpg W25771 2.jpg W25771 3.jpg W25771 4.jpg

Taken at the Severn Valley Railway today. It seems that there is no such thing as a standard gutter!!

Thanks very much Roger. There do seem to be some subtle variations between them, but your photos, along with one that Sean kindly sent me earlier, have given me enough information to go on now I reckon. :)
