.......
There was a very nice GNR Atlantic in the roundhouse on the turntable but I didn't get a clear enough shot of it - it was a bit dark in there at times.
Here's a video from the day too
Where was the "Star" of the show? Gone shopping in Swindon
Lode Star... Swindon shopping village which incorporates the GWR Steam Museum. There is space in the food courts of the shopping area for steam engines to be parked casually.
Handed-down wisdom is that the Stars are theancestorsprogenitors of all subsequent express classes in the UK.
At least "they" avoided being painted (any shade of) blue.
Hi Simon,
Yes it was a great event, well worth the entrance fee - the first time I have been but not the last as it is quite close (about 45minutes away) I hadn't really taken note of what type of engine it was but here's the only other shot I got of it (I took about 200 so I just picked selection out to upload).

Hi JB, sadly not. I was fortunate enough to see Green arrow in steam a few times in her last stint, the first time was when they first steamed her outside the NRM (just good timing on my part -it was the first time I had been and I parked in the NRM car park and she was about 5 feet away through the fence) and a few times on the NYMR just before she was retired.I assume neither were in steam ?
