Bagshot - the build continues

Thirtysecond

Western Thunderer
This is really a continuation of Peter Insole's Bagshot thread. Pete started the ball rolling with the Bagshot station building but unfortunately wasn't able to complete it. Several people including myself have been involved in its completion and now I am moving on to the other buildings necessary to complete the station area. Eventually all buildings will be destined for a garden railway when the weather allows and an indoor diorama when it doesn't.

It has to be said that the station area is BASED on Bagshot but doesn't attempt to be an exact reproduction. For operational purposes I wanted a station with a bay platform, level crossing and other features not seen on the original.

The next most important building is the signal box. This was built by Paul Davenport and is an exact replica of Bagshot box except for the addition of the level crossing controls inside the box.

While this was being built I put together a Woodbury models SR footbridge. Signs to be added to back wall

With the absence of a level crossing at the real Bagshot there was nothing to go on so a generic LSWR design was used. The various sections of the crossing can be added to a permanently laid piece of purpose built track which includes the check rails.

Five pieces make up the superb LC, again built by Paul Davenport

And finally Paul has built me a lovely coal office (not sure if there was one at Bagshot or not but R Kemp WAS a local coal merchant)
