Canton has gone to pastures new today, the building supplies have been ordered for the railway room and in the mean time I've been doing a bit more on OOA,

I'm waiting on some paints and then the retaining wall can go in. The first show is only a few weeks away now.
This should be a nice little back drop for photographing locos.

On a different note I've completed about 80% of the insulation for the railway room today! Another big delivery of building materials next week. Ranelagh will have a home very soon

I've built a few of the buildings now on Leamington and now we have our very own Peter Thompson who is designing the remainder of the buildings, first up are the steps for Brinklow station then very soon I will have the goods shed for Brinklow. These will follow the same laser cut MDF design as laser craft but with many upgrades. So if your starting your own project and need a bespoke building for your project get in touch.
First up for Ranelagh bridge is the signal
Box and stores building then the water tower will follow. Once the boards are in place we can get to work on the large stores buildings and the biggest project of them all the tenements of Gloucester terrace. The laser cutting is done in house by JLTRT

I have some 8mm movie film - only about two or three minutes - I took from the bridge here. The locos were still clean and green when I took my film in about 1960, I guess. It's not transferred to digital so can't offer to put it up on the site. The other side of the high wall is the Grand Union Canal and walking a few hundred yards along the canal tow path, wall on left, was Old Oak Common Shed. The wall was, as I remember, concrete slabs alongside the shed and panels would be removed so that easy access to the shed could be obtained.

Memories, memories.

To any one who's interested here's the Railway room under construction,
image.jpg
2X2 timbers going down with 25 mm insulation in between, theses were fixed directly over the original decking
image.jpg
New 8x2 18mm floorboards screwed down. This is a nice solid floor now. I've pinned 50mm insulation to the walls and in between the rafters and covered with 6mm ply.

First coat of paint on the ceiling. I'm going to fix door stop over the joints on the ceiling.
It's nice and bright inside even though I blocked up two windows. I can't afford 5 double glazed units so 3 will do. There's loads of natural light still and it's probably best that the layout will not be bathed in sun light.
So that's were I'm up too, I'm still hoping that I will have my base boards in place by the end of summer.
I have to take it easy though Doctors Orders.

Just noticed these little things on one of the shots of the bracket signal I'll be building!

Is it a trick of the light or is that the back of some colour lights I can see? The one on the right looks suspiciously like the back of a position light! I'm sure I've read somewhere that the original structure was polluted with converted to :shit:colour lights when OOC powerbox opened....and no I'm not adding colour lights to it, working or not mutter mutter......

Hi Jon
Mike the station master gave me the info on this
It seems that some of the signalling was altered to colour light around 1962
So we will stick to the original with out it.
