A bit destructive. Wheels and (horrid), Kenline vac' pipes are gone, perfectly passable brake fittings still there.

I thought I’d see if I could replace the incorrect GWR pattern axleguards easily. The answer is broadly yes - the builder, very neatly, popped the ABS (I’m pretty sure), castings in little plasticard pockets - and they eased out without much effort. I have found a set of W irons so that much is simple, but it reveals that the solebars are too widely spaced, but cutting them out and replacing them is actually simple and I could reuse the brakegear (unless I have the right type in some other way, entirely plausibly. That really is no more than a couple of evening's work and since the body sides would merit a little more detailing, that's fine - it's good quality work for its time worth saving, though there is a little thumb print bottom right.

Finally, the wheels, not a type I'd seen. They look like Jacksons, but the needle bearings are new on me. Any ideas?
