I might be a bit worried about the sparsely-timbered fiddle yard rail buckling if it got into a hot exhibition hall? In my experience, if track can move, it will move.

We have exactly that issue on two exhibition layouts I've been out with. Best keeping regular and frequent spacing IMO.

Abbots Mead - a very appropriate name!

I agree with some of the comments on buckling track but guess if the rail can move in the chairs this should not be a massive problem? I have glued rails (code 100) directly to wooden sleepers with Superglue to represent light rail in O gauge but on the longer runs it came adrift due to heat expansion. Back to the drawing board or solder the rails to spaced copper clad sleepers. Shorter rail lengths? I have used copper clad on the points though in O gauge.

Is there a chance of the overall plan and dimensions - looks interesting
