3mm works

Well after festive period modelling in 3mm I have been moving forward part started kits that have been haunting...
kits bar the GUV are all Worsley Works etched scratch aids - but in 3mm are more complete having been core works.
GUV is MTK and brake tender is a 3mm Society kit, on LMS bogies. Mk2s - the non aircon coaches were mainly done but forth was an impulse purchase at a second hand society meet up in the summer and has thus to be the fastest kit ever done. The Belle has complex Pullman stepped in ends and was a good faff to get this far.
The MK 2 Ds air cons ( coffins) in last photo have got underframes well on the way but I discovered that having glued roof on I had failed to allow space to glue in the in door vent casting. Few hours spent filling and sanding holes ready for a making vent from scratch. Next job will be roof vents over next few days.
Hope this adds to the forum as normally in awe of works done on here.
Robert

Robert,

That’s some pretty impressive modelling in one of the rarer scales. I look forward to more reports of progress as it happens.

cheers

I think I have come up with a solution to fixing roof on 5 bel vehicles. I plan to fix a nylon csk screw through roof and glue a nut side to retain and then drill through vehicle floor and fit nylon nut to lock roof down. I can fill and sand screw head and along with roof vents etc hopefully they will disappear.

Tiny shove on the Rail car thanks to castings from the good folk at the 3mm castings shop. Bogie sideframes had been out of stock for a while so these are brand new ones and the last they had so there must be several at this stage or better! 20250124_173832_resized.jpg20250124_173851_resized.jpg

No picks but other side done now. What I had failed to spot when taking photo the above pic shows the sideframe has slipped , low to front so this was corrected first.
