Blyth and Tyne Model Railway Society are holding their free open weekend on the 7th and 8th of December.
This Gala is held in our premises in North Shields details below:

There will be a large variety of layouts in many gauges/scales from 2mm up to 16mm including my...
Okay, I might come up with a better title in time!
As a rule I generally don't get involved in ready-to-run upgrades. However, when someone asks nicely, I am willing to take a look.
Some time ago, Philip Healey Pearce, better known round this neck of the woods as @BrushType4, asked if I'd...
Morning all,
Does anyone know of any photos or diagrams showing the North London Railway Class 51 from above or into the cab or have a works drawing of those parts????? They liked taking broadside pictures at the works and plenty of front end shots, but id love to see how the cab was organised...
This build will prove interesting, on a couple of counts. First, it's my first ScaleSeven loco commission. Second, it's a "Small Prairie", but not quite as we know it.
Back in the early 1900s, George Jackson Churchward, chief mechanical engineer of the Great Western Railway, was looking to...
This is my next build for HMRS in Scale 7.
As with the Kirtley Goods described here, Slaters MR/LMS Kirtley 0-6-0 Goods (Johnson) 7L007, there is less than no clearance between the splashers especially across the smaller section over the coupling rods. I have sent the O gauge wheels to...
A small S7 layout, no more than 10' x 20", has recently left the workbench - the design of the trackwork is intended to represent practices of the 1880s and hence the result has some "interesting" features. This topic is to illustrate and describe the Victorian features rather than...
This recent Dapol loco has proved popular with some of the S7 guys and I now have the fifth example on my bench for conversion.
Start by removing the coupling rod crankpins, be careful with these as they are fitted with some sort of thread lock fluid and I have already had one shear, spares...
It's railway modelling, but then again it isn't quite. I'm a great fan of Colin T Gifford's photographs so I thought I'd have a go at 'doing a Gifford' on some 7mm models I've been working on. Evening drawing in at a country station. Old hand and new recruit contemplate a wagon that's ended up...
I'm tempted to get a Tower Brass J39 and rewheel it to S7 but its not likely to be a cheap exercise so I was wondering whether anyone else had gone down this route?
Cheers, Eric
This was one of my Christmas presents from Emma. I have always fancied building an MOK kit and this seemed like a good starting point, a chance to practice on something before the 9f comes out. There is something about these engines, even if it's that they are just ugly. I also felt it was time...
Hi all..
Has anyone here invested in the new very lovely looking Lionheart tank wagons?
Im not sure from the description if the axles boxes are sprung or solid. If they are sprung, does it look easy enough to get the wheels out to re-profile to S7?
Many thanks,
JB.
I joined the Scale 7 Group at Telford having volunteered to build the Slaters MR/LMS Kirtley 0-6-0 Goods (Johnson) 7L007 (Slater's Plastikard - MR/LMS Kirtley 0-6-0 Goods (Johnson)) for HMRS to run on Dewsbury Goods.
I usually model in O gauge...
Fret 6 arrives in the Post
Over the past umpteen years I've been developing wagon suspension units for (mostly) North Eastern wagons. This started as part of the development of kits for Diagram P4 hopper wagons but has acquired a life of its own - development of the P4 kits is still ongoing but...
The recent articles in the S7 newsletters detailed the conversion of the Ixion locomotives to S7. Looks reasonably straightforward to me, but has anyone done the same to the new Dapol Terrier, ie using replacement Slaters wheels etc? I am thinking of getting a Terrier to convert to S7, but...
Hello.
Having recently purchased one of the above trailers I would be very grateful for any advice on issues found converting same to S7
I had a discussion with a customer who was standing, like me at the Lionheart stand, about this matter and he seemed to think it was a very difficult...

We are very grateful that our supportive trader, Laurie Griffin Miniatures...
I have a Slaters 20T hopper wagon which I intend to convert to S7 (when I get the cast off my right hand in a few weeks) ans was wondering if anyone had done such a convert?
Swapping over the wheels is straight forward but do I need compensation/springing?
Remembering that the kit has a hopper...
Anyone here converted their Hudswell to S7?
I've not had a chance to pull mine apart yet (still hiding it from the boss:rolleyes:) and I was wondering if the wheels have separate tyres on plastic centres like the the Fowler?
As I am latheless the possibility of re-gauging the Hudswell in the...
