Town Maps of NLS

Spent the last hour looking at this rather than doing any useful modelling. I love the way the maps of the chosen period overlay sat images and revert to an earlier map if only that is available. I have been looking at the 1947-1964 maps of NW London as it is my area of interest and where I grew up and interesting how much railway infrastructure there was then.

I spent my early and teenage years in Ruislip Manor and and distinctly remember the coal wagons banging around in the Ruislip sidings. The area between Victoria and Pembroke Road was just a field then with a coal merchant at the end of the sidings.

its great stuff. The OS only did 1:500 plans for very small areas and for a very limited time. I suspect NLS have made available all that exist.
