The Model Railway Club is holding its annual Open House event on Sunday 8th May from 11am-4pm. It's a chance to see us 'at home', and take advantage of a special offer for new members.
Four layouts will be operating:
Lacey Dale - N Gauge, based on the Peak District, set in the 1950s/60s.
Minories (GN) - EM gauge London suburban terminus, as featured in the April edition of British Railway Modelling
Ingatestone - our new OO layout set in the present. It's under construction, and will hopefully be operating in the round for the first time
And for any younger visitors we have the hands-on U2Can layout
Our test tracks (in a wide range of gauges) with both DC and DCC will be available for visitors to run their own stock
Our extensive library will be open for browsing
Eric Sainte is coming over from Belgium to demonstrate weathering stock using acrylic paints (definately worth a visit for this alone)
We'll have some selected pre-owned and rare items for sale
And light refreshments (freshly made rolls, soft drinks and Greene King beers).
Entry is free - please see our website for further details, or follow our Twitter feed @ModelRailClub for updates.
Please note - there are stairs to most rooms, if you have any concerns about accessibility please contact us in advance via our website.
