That's the punishment when being sent to back of the class simply isn't enough. I think we are in the realms of an "implied facepalm".

Who says being at the back of the class is a punishment, we have learned not to raise our heads over the parapet whilst someone is shooting at you.

What if the bullets are coming from behind?

I remember being relocated to the back of the class. By chance, I was sat at the very front, right under the teacher's nose, so behaved very well, and he decided to swap me with the naughty boy who was sat at the back. Very difficult thing to reverse, that kind of decision. Which I knew and made him regret for the rest of the year...
