Add me to the list of admirers Westernfan:thumbs:.
The quality of present day N offerings is sooo tempting but....must......resist:headbang:.
Still trying to get over my 7mm "crush" from the Bristol bash.

I'll ask here as well as another Thread - did your Terminus layout in the previous post go on ebay fairly recently?? My lad drooled over it and nagged me to buy it. It was a bit (lot!!) over my pocket money, though... ;)

Hi Ross . The track work is all peco code 55 only the slips are insulated . Phill suggested an extention to the previous layout for more interesting operation , which I pondered with but by just widening the board to 30" would give me space for a tail chaser the curves are transitional 14" -10" radius . There is a hint of the Torrington bay at Halwill junc. with the branch line terminating in its own bay . I not sure how the scenics are going to evolve but hey that's the fun .what plan theres no plan bodging again :D

You have conveyed a great sense of space on the layout which the choice of N offers on a reasonable sized board.
The code 55 looks good too; I have some which I bought for a planned project but it never got used but the visible profile was impressive compared with code 80.
How do your larger locos find the 10" radii I imagine the transition to 14" works well?

My N is long gone but for the roundy experience I often puruse the new models as things have moved so much in the last few years... a DCC Hymek for under £100 is tempting and a secondary line with space is now much more attractive to me than a mainline scenario.
I really enjoyed the scenic work in N too and even a fairly small area can look huge and uncluttered.

Hi ceejaydee

Thanks for your kind comments. The peco code 55 is a marked visual improvment on the code 80 track although I'm not sure that the early Lima and Farish models with their pizza cutter wheels are suitable for traversing the code 55 point work . With regards to the minimum 10" radius curves my collection of loco's run well without any issues . Most of the long wheel base RTR loco's produced these days state that they should run on a minimum of set track 2nd radius curves which IIRC is appox 10 " radius .

Lovely weathering on the 9F; is it a Dapol model?

Hi .
Yes its a Dapol product , factory weathered , and a comprehensive detailing pack is included . The motor is in the tender which drives the locos wheels via a drive coupling. Its runs very well indeed .The only mod I have done so far is to remove the n front coupling . Its a far cry from the Mini Trix model produced 35 plus years ago .

Modelling on a £1200 table.
Every time the 'next' version appears they just keep getting better. This looks great, love the track plan and the underbridge.. good stuff....

Ross :)

Thanks Ross. I don't think I could improve the track plan much more without it becoming Cluttered, but by removing the road that led to the over bridge I was able to create space for the extra sidings that have made for more shunting and storage opportunities .
