Pedant mode on - it's a Union flag NOT a jack - pedant mode off, sorry.

To be really pedantic, it shouldn't be described as a 'flag' when it is painted on a rigid surface as by definition a flag is made of fabric. When the design was introduced in 1606 it was called the British flag, the union name didn't appear until the 1620s. The jack part has naval derivation meaning small. Both Union Flag and Union Jack have been official titles since the beginning of the twentieth century, if not earlier, for the British flag. So my vote would be for describing the painted image of the flag on the side of the 47s as a Union Jack. Not that it really matters.

Sorry its been a while but I have had serious health issues that could have cost me my life. I am now to be known as the Bionic Colonel , I got fitted with a pace maker.

Well the Kettering show was not really a lot to write home about, didn't stay for long had a lot of things to do I am afraid. I did buy a few trinkets, 6 of these for a start at the bargain price of £30 each. 20150307_215839_resized_1.jpg
Any one want to buy an Anglia any colour so long as its BLUE

with my enforced absence from work at the moment I have been doing a bit more on these 20150319_195829_resized_1.jpg
What a game of soldiers they have turned out to be. I am beginning to get the top details sorted out and slowly moving down the coaches. I decided to batch build them the first 5 on show, a little rough around the edges but as they get more fettled they get better.

    Ian,

They're looking tremendous, well worth the work. An exercise in pure bloody-mindedness I'd think with that many on the go!

still playing with the coaches the worst thing about glueing coaches toghether is the bottoms sometimes dont line up and I end up with a rise in the bottom on the body, I am fixing these one at a time using a metal plate and sacrificial paper and SUPER GLUE, what fun 20150408_194247_resized.jpg
just after the door at the bottom you can see the rise, this particular example has been filled with glue
