Just to show how jolly cosmopolitan the Captain is, here is a Class 25 (which has since been converted to P4 to run on Callow Lane, one of only two of my OO locos that I have converted):

Can it be over a year since I've posted on my own layouts thread?!

Here are a couple of views showing the rather limited progress made on Callow Lane this year.

First of all, the signalbox was completed (quite a major carve up of a Ratio kit with lots of extras):

And here's the current state of play on a modified Townstreet plaster cast goods shed, with some additional interior detail (sprayed with red primer, prior to being properly brush painted and weathered):

Both look superb  I can't wait to see further progress - Engine Wood is one of my favourite layouts and one of the reasons I became interested in the hobby :)
The signalbox is fantastic - really fine worksmanship  Is the nameplate an etching?

Yes very nice work indeed :) , I have always like the idea of what S&D might have been like had the dirty deed not been done :( , I'm sure Hydraulics would have been regular visitors ( as would the Cromptons)

Keep up the good work !

Cheers Phill

I painted the main brick colours on the goods shed last night, in enamels, so am letting them dry off thoroughly for the next couple of days or so, before further handling.

In the meantime, I have started what I hope will be the final row of four cottages required for the layout - again using the Howard Scenics card kits as the basis:

Nice to see an update on Callow Lane here Tim:thumbs:
That signal box is bloomin' marvellous, and as much as I dislike overuse of this smiley, it is the most appropriate

Can I ask what you use for point rodding please?

Ta
That bad is it :D I've never done any, and you're not convincing me to try either...:)
Question is, how is your new BLT meant to be operated/signalled?

Was there once a signalbox there, before Dr Beeching demolished it, together with it's attendant signals?

Or was it always 'one engine in steam', with points operated by traincrew off ground frames?
