No idea what either of you are talking about...:)

After a couple of days away in the big smoke, came back determined to do some modelling.

Finally finished laying the cork - started approx 10 months ago and finished off the small platform store building.

Just for fun:

Some excellent modelling going on here. Apologies if I've missed it but how did you do the roof of the small hut? That looks very nice.
Steve.

Thanks all for the comments!

Ben: I'm sure I saw a post you did a while back on RMWeb about replacing the chairs on Peco points, looks mightily impressive if I may say so.

Steve: thanks for your kind comment, Jonte is right, the roof tiles are from York Modelmaking, easier than cutting individually but the self adhesive strips are a bit of a faff to attach! I'm actually building a small structure at the moment that may replace the platform store building, we'll see...

I shied away from building my own track for years. Then when I tried it I found it quite theraputic!

I know my limitations Martin! I find laying premade track is challenging enough!

The aforementioned building I'm working on:

It's inspired by a similar building on a well known layout...

The brickwork above the windows and door arches is a bit of a compromise. On other buildings I cut it out as a slot and then inserted the arch but, frankly, it was time I'll never get back. This time I removed the whole section then backfilled the brickwork above. Not perfect but it'll be covered somewhat by the fascia boards.

Ahhh......that well known one.........

Have a look at page 120 (or page 3) of the current MRJ for a clue...

Before I start, here are my Red Panda sisters:

Look away now if you're easily offended...

While browsing the inspirational Bartlett website, I came across this pic and knew I'd found a use for my Red Panda Lowfit.

So, using a redundant bogie taken from a Lima GUV and some plastic sheet offcuts, I've bodged a representation. I know the bogie details are not correct, but I'm happy enough with it as a load for a bit of fun.

Quite what a Mark 1 bogie is doing on a wagon in deepest North Wales is beyond me...

Off to Llanerchymedd? ;)

Looks great, Matt. Main thing is you’re enjoying it.
