Young Brian has been busy with his camera again. This time he has managed to capture some posh visitors that came in to top up with water.
Once again these photos take in 1958 have been colourised and are shown along with Brains originals.

Hello John,
For a 'beginner', you've done absolutely superbly, that is a very realistic scene you've created.
May I ask, please? Are those ModelU figures?
They look very good.

There has been a bit of trouble at Shelby Wood Sidings.

While the main water tower has been out of commission, the sidings have taken the brunt of loco tender refills, unfortunately a few of the top link locos have been having their paint work damaged by over hanging branches. After several complaints, Harold & Harry have been tasked with removing the offending appendages.
We can see that they have been issued with top notch equipment (not) to do this, which include a rickety old ladder, even more rackety wheel barrow, an axe that any Anglo Saxon Huscarl would have been proud to wield and judging by it's age probably did, plus a small scythe so they could hack their way trough the under growth.

Brilliant stuff!
I found myself wondering just what the family have spotted, an interesting bird in the trees, perhaps?
It's certainly captivated the little girl.

Thanks, John (another great name!).
That's brilliant! I can now (just) see the kite string on the first pics, they're very fine.
Just by the bye, when I joined Mickleover MRC back in oh, about 1983 - I believe there were about six Johns there so we all had to use our full name, i.e. John Edge, JDK, etc, etc
I think all my clubs have usually had at least one other John but six was the maximum!
Cheers,
John.
