Hi Tony,

As it is question time ;), can you tell me what base colour you use on the concreted areas and what other colours or powders to gain that effect you have achieved.

Hi Martyn.

I tend to use whatever grey is to hand. I think it was Acrylic Dark Sea Grey, from a Humbrol rattle can.
I the used the same Humbrol weathering powders as I use for the stock, locos and buildings.

I work from the outside in, starting with the darker colours to create a type of shading. Black, smoke, dark earth and a spot of sand here and there. I then add white to the centre to lighten and blend it all in. Once happy a very light application of acrylic matt varnish to seal it.

Job done.

Thanks Rob, I have the goods yard to complete on my layout once the weather warms up so I will put those tips to good use.
