Potterbourne

Just thought I'd mention that in November, this year, we are off to the NEC. Potterbourne has been invited to the National Model Railway exhibition put on by the Warley Club. It's also Josh's birthday. Much talk at the moment about modifying the fiddleyard and getting rid of the cassettes and putting in ordinary track and points or some sort of sector plate. Dave and I are recommending points and track as we we only have a few trains. Less to go wrong, ie no cassette/sector track joins which at the moment occasionally go out of alignment

Well having finished my first year college course last week, I know longer have assignments to do in the evenings so have gained a bit more free time this last week. This means it has been a very productive week in between work, apprenticeship and the girlfriend

Mk3 platform has been fully secured, painted and weathered. The backscene has been repainted, station fence, lamps, people, clutter, etc have also been refitted - All that is left now is to re-wire up the station lamps and buildings lights - which at the moment is proving a bit difficult as I have managed to break my soldering Iron , along with a few minor other detailing bits such as posters and station signs

I have also fitted an ash/inspection pit in the engine shed and detailed the inside by adding wills brick sheeting, however a few more items need to be sourced to complete this, such as tools, furniture and workers.

I’m hoping to have all these small bits done by next Thursday so I can get the layout back up to the clubroom so we can start making modifications to the fiddle yard and so Alan/westerner can take a few more photos to show the progress.

Thats all for now  :D

We are on our travels again in 3 weeks. This time to basingstoke (10th-11th March), rather a long trek from near Gt Yarmouth. The following week we are off to Nottingham. So if any WTers are at either show please come and say hello.
