Chris, whilst I fully understand your mantra when it comes to your models and your need to be accurate I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the technical side of these piers ( which are up to your usual good standard ) .

As some of the image searches will testify, there are so many connotations, and believe me I've seen quite a few during my career plus differing views amongst civil engineers as to the way in which construction methods are carried out. I have seen both types fail over the years for on reason or another !

Keep plodding on matey, I'm sure it'll look as good as the rest when its completed.

All 5 buttresses now complete. Top of the buttress wall rendered. Not a huge amount of stonework left to do.

Finishing this is my first Covid project.

Embarrassingly long overdue. Even the white plasticard on the early bits have gone yellow.

As long as it hasn't gone brittle and ready to shatter.

This is something I've been doing with my figures I painted years ago - stripping the paint off and repainting them to match my current standards.

Not all the white bits will be mortar by the way, it's just where the stone has been shaped a bit more and the original primer removed.

I've set aside today for some more work on the grain store.



This weirdly shaped piece will be attached to the RHS once scrubbed up. Easier that way, honest.

Moving along at a cracking pace... Well that's what I'm telling myself.



Oh, and a lesson learned when settling down for a full day scribing... A bit of extra finger protection helps.

Yes, quietly working away on Pencarrow behind the scenes. Have been reworking parts of the Grain Store that were done a few years back.

Once this building is finished, any thoughts what other long standing part finished project could be next on my hit list?
