Paul Forsythe "C" Class

This model has been in its box for years waiting to have to steaming problems sorted out and for me to get detailing!!

Well its now 98% finished. The steaming problem was not resolved by building a new boiler and turned out to be (as usual) a Meths supply issue. However, the new , (shorter) boiler was necessary anyway to enable a scale backhead so it wasn't wasted effort.

Anyway I got it steaming beautifully after clearing the accumulated gunge out of the Meths tank and control valve tube and then addressed the detailing both of the exterior and the cab. The back head is as near scale as I can get it with working scale regulator, blower and cylinder drain lever. The by-pass is disguised as the tender brake standard.

That looks lovely.
Can I ask a couple of questions?

Is it fitted with the Paul Forsyth single cylinder design?
Either way, would it be possible to see what's on the other end of the cylinder drain lever, please?

Thanks very much.

Yes it is the single cylinder version as per the Paul Forsythe plans. I will take a picture of the underside when I can but it is essentially the project cylinder drain system as per the later edition of the project book. Instead of being operated from the front of the loco though I put in some flat pull rods and cranks (to get around the firebox) so it could be operated from the prototypical position. In one of the pictures you can just see one of the springs that hold the sliding valve against the cylinder block.
