7mm Kingswood in Scale 7

After spending 38 hours, over the bank holiday period, locked in mortal combat with The Beeching & Axe Moor lay out, I have reluctantly decided to call it quits.

Every time I sorted a problem it showed two or three more and after consulting with my co builders (Mrs PT and Tim) the decision was made to just start a fresh.
I am commissioning a very good track builder to make the track this time, salvaging what he can, the rest will be used on the shelves I display my models on.

The new lay out will be called Kingswood and will have a sign reading Kingswood change for Shelby Wood so it ties in with my O fine scale lay out.

My first couple of jobs have been changing the dogs hind leg cut cork (so cut to ensure that they fit the awful boards edged boards that are now being replaced) to nice straight edges and to change the back boards to a more wooded scene.

The track plan will be the same as the one being replaced and it will have the beautiful station building as the centre piece, also a signal box in the same style as the one at Highley.

The tree backscene looks very useful. Can you post a picture taken at "track" level please with a wagon on a length of track to give some scale.

The bridge and station building look attractive.

I took a bit of a break from grappling with track this weekend, a fab day and a half at Telford left me with enough time to put the Kirtley Models station of for a few photo's.

I think the lady is in for a very very long wait :)) My PY team are very pleased that the station has a urinal

I have just received these photo's of Kingswood Signal Box from Peter at Kirtley models. The interior is still to be added but it will be ready from collection from the Redditch show.

It is like the one at Highley on the SVR, I love the style, have been inside the real thing and have family connections with Highley so it was the obvious choice for the lay out.

I wouldn't mind seeing a view of one of those Dartstaed BR suburbans John.

Hi Larry.

Sorry for the delay, the coaches are a Christmas prezzies from Mrs PT so I had to wait for her to go back out to work before I could retrieve one from her 'secret' hiding place...…...

I have still to add the hinges, there are a lot and all come with the coach in three separate packets! A job for the Christmas holidays.
