Hi John , in your photo the next coach in the train has the same cover so are all our LNWR covers wrong or was it a specific region that used this type . I will look in some of my carriage books and the liveries book as well . I have seen this type maybe on an LSWR carriage?
Cheers Paul
Hi Paul I assume that you mean the lamp covers if you have a look on Ian Rathbones Web site there are a rake of these coaches in the 7mm area and the lamps on those look like the ones in the photo not like the ones in the kit

So you have solved the problem with the lamp covers for the kit then ? They were the wrong size .
Cheers Paul

Have just about finish preparation of parts for assembly and am in two minds whether to fit gas pipes after assembly or before. Will need to source door lever handles. There were some parts missing from this kit and the 42ft Picnic Coach which were purchased before the change of ownership but the new owner of Gladiator was able to supply the bits needed.

John do you know where to obtain the bar handle for the right hand side of the double luggage doors. Lauri Griffin does not seem to produce them but if necessary there are some items that could be adapted.
Thanks Murray

Good morning from Stockport. You were calling ?
I am not a trader just an odd bod who makes the occasional kit or masters for kits for other people.
The brake van in John's post was one of mine.
I have only 2 left. If anybody wants one then please send me a message.

A very nice looking model Mike - please tell us how you have done the reeded edge to the sheeting and achieved such a consistent appearance.

regards, Graham

image.jpeg image.jpeg Graham, many years ago I was examining a resin model of a Cambrain two plank open wagon mastered by John Petcher that had what appeared to be a double grove. I went home to try to do the same on a model of the same wagon, but without the finesse of John's work. I could not keep the lines parallel with an even spacing.
So I tried to put two blade together in the same handle, but the gap was too wide and looked awful. So I put a pair of blades down onto a hard piece of metal with double sided tape but with the blades back to back. I then ground them down on a belt sander to remove a small amount from each blade.
I was able to take them to work where I spot welded them together to give me the narrow gap I was seeking.
The gap may be over scale but it looks good to my eyes.
