I am not able to attend the show this year... and I have a loco kit to be passed to David Hill of Gladiator Models (@Genghis).

I live in the Basingstoke area, anyone from here going there and willing to carry the parcel for me?

thank you, Graham

Jo Day aka Martyn may be coming past?

I'm afraid that's the one show I have never attended. I will be going to the Reading show in May, but no doubt Graham will be at Reading as well. If not I'm quite willing to pick up from Basingstoke and deliver for you ?

Cheers,

Martyn.

Does anyone know where MM1 might be at the Kettering Show? His advert in the GOG Gazette advises that he'll be there but he's not on the list of traders.

If no-one has any info I'll give Laurie a call.

Hi Brian,

I have just read on the Guild Forum that Laurie is not attending Guildex this year - too expensive, so the same might apply to other Guild shows. I would get on the dog and bone.

kine regards

Thanks Mike.

That's a surprise! For Laurie to not be at Guildex is a great shame, and we reckon that, for the major sales event throughout the year it's a great opportunity at reasonable cost. Just look at the cost of sales stands at other hobby events! On the other hand the hassle of loading a vehicle, driving to the event, setting up and breaking down and overnight accommodation may be the straws which break the camel's back.

Personally I like to engage with the people from whom I'm buying and have a look at the product and its buildability before I commit cash to it. The kit I was considering is certainly a luxury with due regard to the stash already in the loft and I might just pass it by.

You are correct. If Laurie has chosen to not be at Guildex maybe he won't be at Kettering either despite his GOG advert. I'll give him a call.

Further to the above I've just heard from Laurie and he won't be attending any GOG shows this year (which is a great shame).

He states as his reason "I wont be attending any O gauge shows this year. It takes up too much of
my time we are concentrating on mail order this year at least." I empathise with his situation as, particularly as a one man business the pressure on time must be considerable.
