Richard, looking at the rear of the WD tender, am I correct in thinking you couldn't resolve the difference between the instructions and the etched brackets? I can't see any bracketry on your buffer beam below the 'floor' to correspond with the bracketry above - or is the angle such that it can't quite be seen? I certainly haven't been able to find all the brackets in the etches of my WD.

I left them off. I had no etches left over (remember that I had the model from Clive, and I had to search his workshop for components), and I missed the bracketry when I did a final survey of the photos I have. Having gone back over the photos following your post, I can see that there is something there, but I don't have good enough data to determine what. I doesn't seem very pronounced, so I think anything in the kit would be too obvious.
I concluded that it was not possible (as in I was not prepared to invest the time) to build a Finney7 or MOK quality model from this kit, so it went in my 'compromise' section.
