Western Thunderer
Well, you asked to see it, and this is what it looks like at present. Bizarrely it resembles the the current state of the prototypes quite closely. Once it's rubbed down, I'm going to get a professional in to paint it properly, with EWS on the side, black and yellow stripes and numbered in the 08 4XX series. (are there any suggestions of a good painter who is happy to do this modern stuff?)
The other photo shows the workings. It's powered by a ten sub-C cell power pack giving 14.4volts and a revolution receiver. I haven't had a chance to give it a good run yet, I need to take it to a GTG.
I was appalled by the way the axles would be permanently fixed in the frames if I built it by the instructions, so I slotted the axles and fitted my own hornblocks and bought some GRS slotted bushes. The rear axle is fixed, centre one slightly sprung, and the front one pivots on a central brass screw. a bit crude, but it seems to work.
sand pipes and loads of other stuff still to be added, that's the problem with modern image, there's a lot more detailing.
I've already got some drawings for the MHA it will pull
