Hello Pete,
good to see you back and modelling again - Kyle still looks great. I didn't exactly leg it back to RM, just haven't made anything 2mm since the Janus, been concentrating on the 4mmNG WDLR stuff.

Hi Alex - Thanks for this - its a bit stop start for me at present with my work load but hoping to try and build the FY before 2015...

Are you drifting to the dark side of NG then? :)

Pete, sorry to hear that work is keeping you busy. I have to own up here and confess that the 4mmNG stuff is my primary interest, 2mm more of a sideline which sprang from a desire to model part of the Woodhead line and the realisation that to do it in 4mm would need too much space.

Alex.

Hi. I was there two years ago I snapped some photos of the layout inside the station have some photos outside of the station as well but can't find them at the moment.
Beautiful place, great train ride.
If your interested let me know and I will post them otherwise I will quietly go back to my American layout and think about New York Harbor in the 50's.
Neville.

A really brilliant piece of craftsmanship Pete; I take my hat off to you for creating such a little gem. The photo backscene that Gary took works so well with the layout. 10/10!

All the best

Just a quick update to say despite some hectic deadlines at work I have progressed the layout further - I will exhibit Kyle at the one day Burgess Hill MRC exhibition on Sat 16 May 2015  coming shortly...

Have now built the Fiddle yard and completed the lighting - now I am onto scenics and rolling stock...few pics of progress...

Been a bit quiet trying to pull it all together but the layout was exhibited at the one day Burgess Hill Model Railway club exhibition on 16 May 2015. Overall the layout behaved itself with a few DG coupling adjustments required and a sticky turnout. Keeping things simple and running just three trains, pass, parcels and vans was a good starting point and the intention is to sharpen this up in the future by adding and removing vans etc. to the front siding. Here's a few pics from the day:

Overall set up from scenic board to fiddle yard is about 1500mm...

Rare moment of two locos in diesel... ;)

The heavens about to open...

The layout has a potential invite to the Uckfield show later this year and am just awaiting final confirmation.

Here's a few of the fleet...

26027

26027 again...with tablet catcher but image a little too dark...
image.jpg
27108 - although 27's were rare to KoL this one did make an appearance...a flimsy excuse to own one...
image.jpg
37414 - another KoL regular for the 26/37 overlap period...

I'm not much of a photographer so most are iPhone pics grabbed at the show - will try to get some better pics now the summer is arriving :D

Lovely shots Pete.

Do like the presentation of the layout and still can't believe its only 1.5m long!

I do like the snap of 37414 by the way. I'm heading towards Kyle in the summer and only wish these locos were still running up there.

Cheers,

Mark
