Picked this up in WH Smith's yesterday - didn't know it was out:

I used to subscribe but that came to an end with MRJ278, and I couldn't renew.
.
Noted this info on the Contents page (my highlighting):

I’d be very happy if they’d do a direct debit, and I’d have thought it would help them too.

I must do a cheque for the next four issues. I don’t think I have written a cheque for anything else this year.

Thanks for letting us know, Tim.

I've not bought an MRJ for some time, but Copenhagen Fields...... I'll make an exception!

My subscription copy arrived last Saturday, along with a renewal slip! I think the 4 issues only thing, has been in place for some time now. Notice also, the change of postal address from Didcot to Bath, though the Didcot phone number remains the same.

MRJ 279, 2mm scale content, some good modelling and scratch building. 2mm I must admit is not my bag but bloody superb modelling.

It's a fine issue - the Irish 4-4-0 is an especially interesting bit of work (I have a project in the drawer for which drive via tender motor might well make sense - and there's @ChrisM's very nice bit of 00 (in MRJ, yes) Woodhead industrial grot.

The new address is the same as the new address for The Titfield Thunderbolt bookshop and Wild Swan Publications. It's about time Mr Castens (Flying Squad) was along to explain what's going on!

Eh, wassup, did I hear my name mentioned...

Ah yes, MRJ.

All that has happened is that we all had to get out of the Didcot premises. This was also in part what made me move my business out of the shop in Larkhall.

As far as MRJ is concerned, all that is changing is that Tollbridge Studios is now the postal address for MRJ, you will note that the telephone number remains on a 01235 Didcot code and is connected straight to the folk at Cygnet.

I pass on all mail unopened and have not taken over any control or functions of MRJ. I have however bought all of the back issues of all the journals from them, and new issue stock now comes to me once the subs copies and trade standing orders have been sent out.

These last two functions are now being carried out up at the printers.

My new place is now otherwise open on Thursdays to visitors, it has a proper retail space, but for the moment I am asking that people let me know they are coming rather than just rocking up unannounced, this last just so that necessary Coronovirus distances etc can be observed.

Hope everyone is otherwise well - great "escape" by Jim by the way, all fine here.

I don't see the point of the new four issue subscription cycle, surely it only adds to their admin costs ?
I was happy enough paying for 8 issues at a time, even when the delivery was a bit erratic.
I don't know what WH Smith charges, but distribution can eat up around 75% of the cover price.
So it makes sense for MRJ to get subscribers and keep them happy and on board....
