Just two I'm afraid, one Dapol one Minerva. Hopefully to be joined by a Class 14.
Ditto. Nothing to be afraid of - proud more like!! :)
I consider myself very fortunate to own two Panniers; a few years ago the only option close to R-T-R for a Pannier was the Tower/San Cheng brass version at over £500 a pop - well beyond my budget. I would never have imagined being able to own two decent Panniers for rather less than that price put together!!

My apologies Mr Sheep Bloke, I should never have mentioned panniers. Your thread seems to have been somewhat distracted of late.

As an old friend would say "topic reset"?

Indeed. These Great Western types are a tad obsessive aren't they?

I really do prefer the 14xx et al but that's just me I guess. I have a limited budget for trains and as such will limit locos to those I think I need.

Anyhow, back to the thread before it goes too Rmweb.

The first two RTR wagons have been purchased and thoroughly pleasing they are.

Both from Minerva and I am very satsfied with them. More to the point I had the opportunity to meet and spend some time chatting with Chris Basten when I collected them, which was a real pleasure. If ever a company needs a lesson in how well to treat their customers I would refer them to Minerva. Highly recommended from a satisfied customer.

No doubt more wagons from the Minerva stable will darken my rails in the future.

Nice pair of Wagons Rob. I too met Chris B at Telford last year, but never got the pleasure of meeting Chris K, even though I'm now just down the road, such a sad loss.
And don't worry, I consider myself duly told off, and wont be posting ''P'' pics again, but will enjoy watching your weathering exploits as I did in 4mm.
Enjoy your big boys toys.:)

Pleased to hear that you've had similar experiences with Minerva Rob which I too agree with.

Now for the weathering techniques.....I wish you well and hope that you get good results and will look forward to seeing your work.

Strangely I have change the way I weather locos, in 00 I used an airbrush even for the smaller areas of weathering. The two 0 gauge locos I've weathered on Blakeney have both been brush painted.

Well, this almost came to a grinding halt.

The current focus is very much on the 4mm side of things at present and as such some of you may have noticed a certain 1400 in the For Sale section this morning.

I also sought to move on the Minera wagons and as such exchanged a few messages with Pencarrot of this parish. However, he sowed a seed which has resulted in the retention of things 7mm.

Not only have they been retained but the open is now half way through being weathered. I say halfway because I have only worked on the interior.

Here is a photo of the current stare of play and if this carries on we might end up with something in 7mm yet..
