S7 in the kingdom of Yorkshire

I have just been reading the thread about the NW group, and thought I would pop a picture here for those on this side of the pennines showing some progress on my S7 layout....
It has grown somewhat since the last time I shared any pictures.

Did the Deeley start life as a ABS kit? I have an unstarted one in the box of kits that I have never got round to building.

Marc,
I did not build it, but do have the box. I'll take a look and let you know.
Cheers

The one I built was a Zero Zepher kit from Adrian Swain, went together fairly well, although I bashed it for S7

That is the one that I have. Any tips on the conversion? I'm presuming that most of the work will be in the chassis making sure that the valve gear doesn't foul the wheels? I have an Agenoria TVR 0-4-0ST which will need the same treatment.

I pulled the chassis out to 29- 29.5 mm ( not to sure as it was a few years ago ) with new spacers and milled the back off of the cast white metal cylinders, as they are made over width to compensate for the Fudge Scale narrow chassis.
I think that was about all the major re-work, and then the usual re- profiled wheels and split axles etc.

Hi Caggers,

Are they Sprung versions? The bogies don't 'need' to be sprung if all the track is nice and flat, but it definitely improves the running massively..

It's been a long time since I posted anything on this thread, but now the club is open again I have been picking up the tools again.
Here are a couple of videos I took this evening I hope.

Hi JB,

Yes, we are blessed with a large club room that allows individuals to build layouts that otherwise would be impossible.
